Should Arms on Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar Automatically Lock When Pulling Forward

Question:

I purchased a used Falcon 2 towbar from an individual. When closed, I pull the arms out about 1/4 inch and hear a click. I can then continue pulling without touching the locking pin all the way till the arms lock. On my Falcon 5250, i need to release the locking pins before pulling the arms out. Is this normal for the Falcon 2 ?

It sounds like you are referring to the self-aligning design on the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-525. This mechanism allows the arms to automatically lock into place when pulling on them. This lets you simply hook up the tow bar and drive forward without having to manually lock the arms.

This is completely normal and one of the upgraded benefits of the Falcon 2. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
