Question:
Will this hitch install on a 1997 F-250HD longed. Are there custom brackets available for this truck, it does not have overload springs. Thank you

Yes, the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Rails and Universal Installation Kit part # C16116 will fit your 1997 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty and will work well for you. Unfortunately, there are no true custom install kits available for this vehicle therefore a universal kit like the one listed above will be your only option.
In order to install the above you will want to refer to page 11 of the install instructions which I have attached for you.
