Question:
Hi, I notice that the OEM Audi Q7 hitch includes a plug for a trailer lights and blinkers. Im concerned that if I dont have this same plug I wont have what I need for my trailer lights. Can you offer some suggestions and help place my mind at ease? Thank you!

For your 2014 Audi Q7, I recommend you use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT because this is the only kit available for your vehicle that does not require splicing. This kit comes with the circuits needed to activate the brake, turn, and running lights on a trailer as it will provide you with a 4-way trailer connector.
The OEM trailer connector for a 2014 Audi Q7 with the factory tow package has a 7-way which has the brake, turn, and running lights circuits but also pins for extra circuits like trailer brakes and battery charge. However, unless your trailer does have brakes or a battery then you won't need a 7-way to active the lights as the 4-way will do this just fine.
If you don't already have a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75950. I have attached install videos for you on similar model as well.
