Question:

I own a 2005 Coleman pop up and opened it for the first time this summer to find the roof had a leak. what is the best way to correct this problem? What can I use on the roof to seal it so it doesnt continue to leak?

That is not a fun thing to walk into when opening up your camper for the season! Based on the damage shown in the picture you attached I recommend simply replacing the affected ceiling inside the camper with a whole new section of material.

Then to repair the roof and prevent this type of leakage from happening again I recommend installing new roof membrane with the LaSalle Bristol # 3441700534142711430. You can then add the LaSalle Bristol Roof Installation Kit # 3442703414KIT that includes a 2-gallon container of EXP90 adhesive, six 10 oz cartridges of XTRM self-leveling sealant and two rolls of butyl tape.

I have attached an install video that you can use for reference but if you aren't comfortable doing this or replacing the ceiling your best route will be to take the camper up to a local RV dealer that has a service department.
