How Do I Use Adhesive?

Alpha's 8011 adhesive provides a strong bond between your roof membrane and your RV's roof. How you apply the adhesive will depend on the surfaces of the materials you are bonding together.

If 1 of the 2 surfaces is porous - a surface with empty spaces that allow the passage of water or liquid - apply the adhesive to the membrane only. An example would be a roof made of untreated wood and an EPDM membrane. The untreated wood is porous, meaning coating it with the adhesive could cause it to seep into the wood. So, apply the adhesive to just the membrane, let it dry for 45 minutes to an hour, and then lay it onto the wood for a leak-free roof.

If both of the surfaces are non-porous, apply adhesive to both the membrane and the rooftop. For example, if you have a metal roof and you are laying down an PVC membrane, you can put the adhesive on both materials because their non-porous construction will keep the adhesive from seeping through.

After applying and laying the membrane flat, squeegee out the air bubbles that will inevitably form to ensure full contact between surfaces.

Everything came very fast and products all in great shape thank you Nick at etrailer.

by:

The new roof install went well and we will enjoy our Travel Trailer for many years to come.

by:

We’re still waiting on the rest of our order & shipping date everything didn’t come at the same time.

by:

The roofing material was easy to work with, however, was disappointed with the adhesive. We spent a very long time, redoing this roof and applied all new wood. we followed the instructions exactly how we were supposed to and the roof has many areas where the adhesive failed and it’s bubbling up and lifting in many places. It was disappointing to see this after all the thorough prep work. I believe that adhesive is a very weak adhesive. The non sag sealant is very messy. Hard to make it look nice.

I am sorry to hear that the install did not go more smoothly for you Zafer. I am curious on how you did the install? The easiest way is to roll it out, make your cuts, then roll both sided to the middle of the camper going out just small sections at a time, then use a floor squeegee just to get the bubbles out, you should not put a lot of force down when getting the bubbles out. As for the non sag sealant, yes it is messy and hard to make it look good. I am a bit of a perfectionist so I feel your pain on this. Less is more my friend =)

easy to apply just take your time; they have a great video that explains exactly how to use and install for roofing system

HOPE WORKS WELL ON ROOF REPAIR

by:

Totally impressed with the assistance Cristy K gave us in selecting the adhesive for our camper roof repair. The package arrived in perfect condition. Thanks!

by:

Works as should

by:

Very good product and easy to work with, it was 100 degrees when we were working with it and we didn’t have any problems with it drying too fast

by:

Works good but takes a long time for it to get tacking.

by:

This is a completely misleading advertisement; the product was shipped folded, not on a roll. The products are all damaged and leaking.

by:

Still working GREAT after a year of hot desert sun. No problems of lifting . Would highly recommend.

by:

WORKED WELL, ONCE YOU PUT THE MATERIAL DOWN YOU DO NOT WANT TO PULL IT BACK UP.

  • Recommended Slide-Out Roof Repair Kit And Installation Video
Most slides have EPDM rubber roofs but because EPDM is rubber it requires treatment each year to keep it soft and prevent shrinkage. You could replace it with TPO which is another synthetic rubber that will last longer than the EPDM. The smallest roll we carry is the Alpha Systems Superflex TPO RV Roof Membrane - White - 67-1/2 Sqft Item # AL68CV which can be cut to fit and you'll need some adhesive # AL27CV and sealant # AL28KV to install it. The same PVC membrane that you would use...

  • Can the MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan Be Mounted on a Sloped Roof?
Yes, it can Brian. The MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan item # MA00-03851 can indeed be mounted on a sloped roof. The fans going to operate the same without any issues. It fits a 14'x14" roof cutout and 1"- 4-1/2" thick roofs. The Alpha Systems Butyl Tape item # AL64UV and the1010 Non-Sag Sealant item # AL28KV you bought last month are exactly what you need to help you get the MaxxFan item # MA00-03851 installed. • How To Fix a Roof That Is Becoming Delaminated
Hello Mark. Great question. I am all about fixing what you have, however with part of it being delaminated you might want to take a closer look just to make sure that there is not severe water damage underneath. If the roof membrane is still in great shape you could use Alpha Systems 8011 Adhesive for RV Roofs # AL27CV to glue it back down (unfortunately, we do not have this in a smaller quantity), then you will want to seal it up with some Alpha Systems 1010 Non-Sag Sealant for RVs #...

  • Recommended Vent Sealant for a 2010 Forest River R-Pod Travel Trailer
Hey Ruth, you're correct you are going to need to rip up that old stuff before you put some new sealant down. So since you live in Texas, I'd recommend going with the TremPro 645 Silicone All Purpose Sealant for RVs and Trailers # FAS59FR. This stuff works best in temps above 40 degrees, is clear in color so it'll match whatever painted surface you apply it to, and can easily be installed using a caulking gun # PTW54295. Keep in mind as well that this is only a 10 oz bottle considering...

The smallest container size of the Alpha Systems 8011 Adhesive for RV Roofs, is 1 Gallon - item # AL27CV. This provides a strong bond between your roof membrane and your RV's roof. But the Alpha Systems Patch Kit for SuperFlex RV Roof Membranes, # AL57CV that you linked to includes 1 tube of 1021 self-leveling sealant.
