Will the Thule Compass Kayak Carrier TH890000 be comparable with the OEM roof rack on a 2019 Toyota Hybrid RAV4 XSE ?

The Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier # TH890000 is compatible with the factory roof rack on your 2019 Toyota RAV4 XSE Hybrid. It will simply clamp around the bar and is compatible with weights up to 130 lbs max. You will want to determine the weight capacity of your OEM rack as often they are not rated as high as aftermarket parts.

Hi! This track TH890000 looks amazing. We're about to buy two kayaks but I am also very interested in SUP so like the flexibility this offers. 1) Does it fit 2015 Toyota Highlander factory racks? 2) We have factory trailer hitch receiver but not sure we have hitch/ball (?) - do we need? What else do we need? 3) Does it lock or do you recommend locks (we'd travel highways b/n here and destination plus possible camping, typically PA/NJ/NY/New England). 4) With two recreational SOT kayaks, would we still have room for cargo box (none owned but considering). Thanks!

The Thule Compass Kayak and Sup Carrier # TH890000 will fit the factory crossbars on your Highlander. It's attachment and the loading of your kayaks/SUPs are completely unrelated to your tow package, so there's no need to add anything to that setup. There aren't any locks specifically designed for the carrier (this isn't abnormal for kayak racks). The best way to lock it to the crossbars would be with a standard cable lock like # TH538XT that you can wrap around the carrier and bars.

@ChrisR Thank you!!! Kayaks need 8-10 ft around (30 inches wide and 12 inches tall x 2 plus gaps, racks, etc.). Does the e98891 work? Second question, is regarding front tie downs. Best I can tell, the 2015 Highlander has slots for tow hooks but no tow hooks and they're $30 each (annoying!). Which straps are best for front tie-down with this car? I don't understand the markings under the hood (UD and LR) and there's only one obvious bolt. WDYT about Item # TH529 and Item # TH530 (or is it now 530101)? I have under-the-hood pictures but not seeing where to attach them. Thx!

@SaraB The etrailer Cable Lock # e98891 works too! You don't need to use the factory tow hooks front the front tie-down attachment. Typically there will be a good spot or two to loop or hook around under the hood. If not, another option is to add the Quick Loops # TH530, which you would simply close the hood over.
