Question:

I need to replace the 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter I have for a new pin box which is a Lippert 1621 so I can use with the BandW Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3400 and to gain turning clearance. What do you recommend?

In order to use the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3400 along with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit part # BWGNRK1116 on your 2017 Ford F-250 FX4 you will indeed need to swap out the pin box you have now with a welded on 5th wheel to goosenneck adapter. Since you have a Lippert 1621 box pattern you can use the Lippert 1621 5th Wheel Pin Box part # LC1191191 for 15K or part # LC1387883 for 21K. This will then give you the clearance that you need to tow with a short bed truck.

The B&W Companion is largely considered to be one of the best 5th wheel hitches on the market. The reason for this is because it has 1" thick dual locking jaws which take almost all chucking out of the equation and it's cam action release handle will allow you to uncouple the trailer on uneven ground.
