Question:
I need a Brake Controller for a 17 Ford F150. I read a few that pair with my phone but I am not sure that I will always be using it , sometimes my Dad may need to tow something. Is there any other options. And what would be the easiest to install. Thank you

The easiest brake controller to install by far is the Curt Echo # C51180 because you simply plug it in at the 7-Way on the rear of your 2017 Ford F-150 and then pair it to your Apple or Android smart device via Bluetooth. If you don't always plan on having your phone with you or your dad will be using it then your best option will be something that you can control without a phone.
For your application I recommend using the Prodigy P3 # 90195 because it has an LCD screen that communicates without using codes, it has an easy-to-use interface, and it has the ability to save settings for different towing setups. The P3 connects to your F-150 via the Adapter # 22292 and then you just have to install the mounting bracket so that the controller is easily within reach. I have attached an installation video of this on a 2016 F-150 that you can reference.
If your 2017 F-150 only has a 4-Way connector at the rear then you will also need to add the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This plugs in to your 4-Way and then has enough wiring to reach the factory wiring on your driver's side. I have attached an installation video of the ETBC7 and the Prodigy P2 # 90885 (predecessor to the P3 and installs the same way) for you to check out.
