I plan on buying from you a set of 5 Travel Trailer wheels and tires. But I need help purchasing correctly. My trailer is a 1999 25foot tandem axle R Vision 7253 Trail Lite. My plan was to simply purchase the same size wheels/tires on the trailer and found your load D ST175/80 R 13 on galvanized 5/4.5 wheels. The exact same size currently on the trailer now. I want galvanized because the current white rusted wheels look bad and I live near saltwater. I would like to say my trailer tows perfectly with the current tires/wheels and even without an equalizing hitch! OK, now the dilemma. I decided to do some research and found the barely readable GVWR sticker on the trailer. The GVWR is 5005lbs. The GAWR is 2800/2800lbs. The tire size is ST205/75 R 14 at 35 PSI. The Rim is 14X5.5. Obviously someone put the wrong size wheels/tires on the trailer. OK, so I found your load C ST205/75 R 14 on galvanized wheels, which I think is supposed to be the size actually on the trailer. 1, does it really matter which of these 2 sizes are used? Like I said even with the wrong size the trailer tows perfectly. 2, Im leaning towards your ST205/75 R 14s, but theyre only load range C. How important is having D vs C? 3, Regarding inflation my tag calls for 35 PSI, yet your new tires are supposed to be inflated to 60 PSI cold. I thought manufacturers recommended PSI based on vehicle road tests? So will the new tires inflated to 60 PSI cause towing problems? 4, on average how old are the trailer ties you sell- hopefully 2018/19s. Thanks,

As long as the tires you end up using on your trailer are rated for the weight that will be on the trailer and the size you go with won't cause any clearance issues you are find to go with a smaller or larger tire. I'd recommend going with the size the trailer was designed for though unless you prefer having the trailer sit a little bit lower.
For a galvanized wheel with the tire size 205/75-14 and the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14" Galvanized Wheel # AM32156 would work well. It has a weight capacity of 1,925 lbs at 60 psi and a speed rating of 81 mph. You do need to inflate the tire to it's max rating when cold to ensure you get the full capacity.
