Comparing the OEM Subaru Hitch to the Draw-Tite Hitch 76253 on a 2019 Subaru Ascent
Updated 04/16/2019 | Published 04/15/2019 >
Question:
I see that #76263 installs using the same mounting holes as the bumper beam that was removed. The OEM trailer hitch, however, uses frame bracket assemblies installed into the frame hole opening, see page 8 Is there any concern using #76263 since it does not mount into the frame hole opening?

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76253 and the OEM Subaru Trailer Hitch Receiver L101SXC002 actually install using most of the same holes on the vehicle. I looked through the instructions you were referencing to confirm this. The OEM option is a three piece hitch which is why it looks like it installs differently but I can promise you that it replaces the bumper beam just like the Draw-Tite option, it's just rather hard to tell from the instructions.
There will be no concerns using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver on your 2019 Subaru Ascent so long as you abide by the vehicle's listed towing capacity. I have attached an install video for you as well as a photo. There is no drilling required whatsoever.
