What is the 5th Wheel Towing Capacity of a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

Whats the max weight for a 5th wheel that I can haul with a 2019 Silverado or Sierra 1500? Also, the 2 year plan is to pull an enclosed trailer 3000 lbs behind the 5th wheel.

The manufacturer only specifies a conventional trailer towing capacity for a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500/2019 GMC Sierra 1500 which can range from 6,700 lbs to 12,200 lbs depending on options. The 5th wheel towing capacity is only available on the 2500HD and 3500HD models however that's not to say you cannot tow a 5th wheel trailer with the 1500 model but this will not increase from the conventional trailer towing capacity. With that being said, you really ought to look into a 2500HD or 3500HD if you will be towing a 5th wheel trailer, let alone triple towing.

For a 5th wheel hitch, I highly recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3255 for fixed or part # BWRVK3270 for sliding. The B&W Patriot has 3/4" dual locking jaws which grip the kingpin tightly to eliminate slop and a cam action handle to allow for uncoupling while on unlevel ground. If your Silverado has the 5-3/4 foot or 6-1/2 foot bed, the Reese Install Kit # RP56015-53 will work perfectly. If you have the 8 foot bed you will need the B&W # BWRVK2504. Both kits are confirmed to fit your truck and are completely compatible with your existing RBW hitch.
