How to Determine Correct Replacement Hub for 1989 Ranger Trail Boat Trailer

Question:
Ranger Trail 1989 no brakes hub. I have a single axle ranger trail for my 17foot 335-v ranger, I would like to replace the hubs but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them measured correctly, can you let me know what hub I need? This model has no brakes on it so it is just the hub assembly itself And possibly the spindle. Thank you.

I can tell you how to figure out the exact hub you need for your 1989 Ranger Trailer (maybe even without measuring!) although there is no database that specifies each part for a trailer like your 1989 Ranger Trail.
Even though it is likely to have a 3,500 lb axle you are going to need to verify exactly what is on your trailer as it can vary; to do this you will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them.
If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure. It may look a bit intimidating, but this should help you figure it out.
