Heavy loads and long tows can make brakes run hot fast. This Dexter 9-3/4" hub-and-rotor assembly uses a vented design that channels air through the rotor to keep temperatures in check. By shedding heat efficiently, it helps prevent fade, warping, and other heat-related wear so braking feels smooth and consistent every time.
Moisture, salt, and road grime are tough on trailer parts. This assembly uses strong cast iron for durability and a zinc finish that stands up to corrosion and wear. The surface coating gives marine-grade protection that holds up well in demanding conditions, keeping the hub looking clean and performing solid over time.
Warped rotors or uneven braking are often caused by loose manufacturing tolerances. Dexter machines each hub-and-rotor to tight specs so the surface runs straight and true. That precision keeps braking smooth and predictable while cutting down on vibration and uneven pad wear.
This hub-and-rotor is built for 4,200-lb axles and uses standard components for easy pairing. It includes inner and outer races (L68111) already pressed in, while matching L68149 bearings and a 2.328" grease seal are available separately. The 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern with 1/2" wheel studs fits common setups, making replacement straightforward when it’s time to refresh your brakes.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Dexter 9 3/4 inch hub and rotor assembly with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Has a zinc finish to it and it fits a 4,200 pound axle. Now, this hub and rotor assembly is designed to work with the 4,200 pound Dexter disc brakes. This uses a machine process which will minimize any run out and warping and the contaminants can't get in between your rotor or your hub. If you notice, it is a vented design, so it does regulate the temperature to prevent overheating.
It is a cast iron construction, provides strength and durability, and as we mentioned, you can see the nice shine. It's a zinc finish on it, which will protect against corrosion and wear. Again, a few specs on this. The axle capacity is 4,200 pounds. Bolt pattern we mentioned is a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
Wheel stud diameter is 1/2 an inch and the diameter of the rotor itself, 9 3/4 inches. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Dexter 9 3/4 inch hub and rotor assembly with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
