How To Select the Correct Weight Capacity for Trailer Leaf Springs

Does the total weight include the load on the trailer or just the weight of the trailer itself?

It sounds like you are trying to find out what replacement leaf springs that you need for your trailer. If that is the case then you will need to base them off of the axle capacity. For example, if you have a 3,500 lb axle then you will want to use something like the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles part # e54SR which has a 1,750 lb capacity. The trailer axle will have two leaf spring packs so you will then take 1,750 and multiply by two to get a total weight capacity of 3,500 lbs that matches your axle.
If you can let me know what your axle capacity is which can be found on the sticker in the center as well as the unloaded eye to eye leaf spring spacing, I would be happy to give you an exact recommendation if applicable. Also, if you were not referring to trailer leaf springs then please clarify this for me and I would be happy to help.
