Question:
Yakima Railgrab compatibility w 19 Subaru Outback Touring flush rails? We just purchased a 2019 Subaru Outback Touring 3.6 with the flush rails. I have Yakima Railgrabs with round crossbars from trade-in I wanted to install on the new Subaru. Are these compatible?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Yakima Railgrab towers were phased out before being tested with the flush mounted rails that run front to back on your 2019 Subaru Outback Touring. The round bars can be reused if desired using adapter # Y03536 but the towers you need are the RidgeLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y00145 and then you need fit kit # Y06028. I recommend using locks # Y07204 to secure your system.
If you don't want to reuse the round bars, then you can forget the adapter and add the Jetstream crossbars # Y00425 which will be a little quieter and will also give you channel mounting ability for accessories where the Corebar # Y00421 will not.
With any of these systems the crossbar spread will be 41 inches and the weight capacity is 165 lbs.
