Is There a Recommended Boat Trailer Guide On Length

Updated 02/27/2019 | Published 02/26/2019

Question:

I am purchasing a 2008 19 foot Tracker Pro Team. The trailer does not have the bunk style guide ons. My experience loading a boat has been power loading so i definitely want the bunks. Your help on the length would be appreciated.

I wish I had an exact recommendation for you but the boat trailer guide ons, like part # CE27640, are really a personal preference. There are some general guidelines to follow but there aren't any standards.

What you want to do is make sure your guide ons sit far enough out that they won't touch your boat when you are loading it (otherwise your boat will slowly push on them and damage them) but not so far out that you are wider than any legal driving/road limits. You should be able to acquire the specifics on trailer width at your local DMV or your State government website.

Attached is a link to our list of guide ons available for boat trailers. Just filter through the different heights so that you can easily see the guide ons when loading your boat.
