Hey Wayne!

Our etrailer Sidewind Aluminum Trailer Jack w/ Wheel # e95YV would be a great option for your Karavan Classic trailer. I found online that the 17 ft 1997 Boston Whaler Montauk comes in at around 950 lbs, so the # e95YV's 1,500 lbs capacity will perfectly accommodate the weight of the trailer with no problem. The jack is made of aluminum, so you don't have to worry about corrosion if you're in a saltwater environment. It'll give you up to 12" of lift and it's made for trailer frames between 2"-4" tall, which is correct for multiple Karavan Classic trailers that I found but you'll want to measure to confirm.

For guides, you can go with the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27640. These are the taller posts which provide extra visibility for loading your Montauk onto the trailer. You can adjust them out up to 19" from the trailer and they'll fit on frames up to 5" taller, so no additional bolts are needed.

Are you typically launching the boat in fresh water or saltwater? Where do you typically take the Montauk?
