Question:

If mounted on a boat trailer, will it withstand submersion? Launching and loading?

Expert Reply:

Electric jacks such as the Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX should not be submerged in the water; they are resistant to rain but not being completely immersed under water.

Instead, you will want to go with a manual jack, such as the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K which has a 2,000 lb capacity and 27-1/2 inches of lift. It would require either Footplate # JF-101BK or Wheel # JC-102.

If you need more capacity but less lift there is the Bulldog # TJA-5000-B which has a 5,000 lb capacity and 15 inches of lift. For a footplate with this jack you will need Bulldog Footplate # JF-99 or Wheel # JC-102.
