Video Transcript for etrailer.com Removable Trailer Jack Caster Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the removable, six inch caster for two and a quarter inch trailer jacks. Part number JC-102. This steal caster attaches to any two inch inner diameter jack, making it easy to maneuver your trailer. It attaches with a pin and clip, making it removable, so you can detach it during travel.Compared to plastic wheels . Well, you can see what happens to plastic wheels. It feature a clear, zinc finish, which is gonna make it corrosion resistant.

One thing to keep in mind is that has a capacity of 1,200 pounds, so if your jack's capacity is higher than that it will reduce it to 1,200 pounds. One of our customers Allen B. says, "I bought the wheel for the new jack I bought from etrailer, so I could pull it around the yard with a lawn tractor doing light yard work gathering cut limbs, et cetera. Not having to attach the truck to do yard work is great. And besides, the truck cannot go under the trees, whereas the lawn tractor can."As you can see, our old wheel's pretty messed up, so we're gonna be replacing it. Now, you want to support your trailer with your towed vehicle or a jack stand.

We can simply just raise it up just enough where we can remove it, take out the pink and clip . If you have any rust, now would be a good time to clean it off.The new wheel goes on as easily as the old one came off, it even includes a pin and clip. Simply line up the holes, put it in, and you're all set to go. That's gonna complete our look of the removable six inch caster for two and a quarter inch trailer jacks. Part number JC-102..

Just got these today from E-tailer. They came right on time and the support staff; Emily W. was awesome.
I am using these on a hard to load front end snowplow so probably not what most people use them for, but it looks like the jacks will work great.
Thank you, E-tailer.

Put this wheel on my utility trailer to make it easier to move trailer when not connected to truck. I can now move the trailer easily w/o straining my back and or using the truck. It is very easy to connect to the jack and when driving down the road with the trailer I always remove it to give me more clearance between the jack and the ground.

by:

Put this wheel on my 8' MiniGo cargo trailer. Bottom axel height - 8" clearance. Bottom frame height at level is 9.5" clearance. I like the wheel, but certainly won't tow with wheel attached (Audi Q7 tow vehicle). So will have to swap around skid plate (came with the trailer) and wheel when towing. Just something to think about.

by:

Items look great. Problem is when I was looking for my Jack for dual seadoo trailer your website said it was older and no longer available but this was a replacement and would fit. The otter pole is larger than the original and I noticed that as soon as I compared to two so I unpacked it but did not even try to install it.

by:

The plastic wheel will not turn left or right on a smooth hard surface. I do not recommend it. There are better and cheaper ones available

by:

I purchased the etrailer JC-102 to use a new Wells Cargo Tandem trailer that it came originally with a landing pad, which made it difficult to move around by hand rolling. This 2 1/4" Trailer Jack Removable Steel Castor Wheel is well constructed and a great value. I highly recommend this wheel assembly!

by:

Bought this to pair with Item #322-RDJ-2K. It fits perfectly to the jack. The wheel first worked perfectly and made moving my utility trailer super easy. After about a year all the paint fell off and it is now a rusty wheel. Also, even after using grease it does not swivel well anymore. I don't think there are any ball bearings in it. That would keep it fluid.

by:

This caster is exactly what I was looking for. It fits perfect. Easily to order and easy to make sure it’s the right size. I will order again for any products that I need from etrailer.

Great

by:

Perfect for my application and excellent product. The only issue I had was the original delivery date was not met and I ended up receiving it 3 days later.

by:

Perfect fit.

by:

Good stuff will be buying more accessories in future

by:

Kinda cheap quality. Was told by ETRAILER support that this was the only option wheel. Underwhelmed

by:

Quality product as expected from etrail er

by:

Good enough for what I need it to do.

by:

I put this on my dog trailer. Because this trailer gets pulled in the field and through ditches. It is the only jack I have found that allows me to do this. Not to mention the time saved hooking and unhooking the trailer by half the time screwing the jack up or down. It was a little tight at use and the spring pin was stubborn when finding the hole to snap in. But 5 minutes with a little bit bigger drill bit just to chamfer the pin holes and a dremel tool to knock a little weld slag down and it almost works automatically. Love it.

by:

I bought the wheel for the new jack I bought from etrailer so I could pull it around the yard with the lawn tractor doing light yard work... gathering cut limbs etc. It works perfect for that. Not having to attach the truck to do yard work is great... and besides the truck cannot go under the trees whereas the lawn tractor can.
I also bought the foot for using the truck.

by:

thought the caster would not be quite as sloppy on the bolt it rides on, but it will work for what I need.
Wished it also was wrapped in some type of paper wrap or bubble wrap before being thrown on top on the tire to bounce around during shipment. not much thought was given by the person who packaged this up. But the speed and timing in shipping was great.

by:

Worked well to help with moving a utility trailer around on my side parking pad. One thing to note, the wheel is steel, welded together on the surface that rolls on the ground. This caused little lines in my concrete as I rolled it around. Other than that, it does what I wanted it to do.

by:

Very happy with wheel assy! Was happy to find wheel is steel instead of rubber. Should last really well in all weather!

by:

Well made when I finally hook it up to my trailer I can give it a final evaluation

by:

Once again e-trailer comes through with just what I needed. I needed a steel wheel for my travel trailer because the plastic one's broke. This is real beefy, and quality seems great, It cost a couple dollars more than the cheapo ones, but seems worth it. The shipping was good and fast. And customer service is unbeatable. Thanks Again Jack

by:

Very easy to install

by:

Fits great. Rolls great

by:

Fit the RAM Brand Trailer Jack perfec[tly]. Large wheel and heavy built to easily move your trailer.

by:

The JC-102 works perfect on my new aluminum trailer. Now I can move it with ease and no lifting the tongue up anymore! Rolls great in my gravel lot!

  • Availability of Caster Wheel for Ram Trailer Jack
We do have a nice selection of jack wheels available, including a couple that are designed to work with Ram trailer jacks. I am not sure what particular model Ram jack you have, but you may be able to use the Removable 6 inch Caster # JC-102. This particular caster will attach to 2 inch diameter inner jack tubes and features a clear zinc finish on the bracket for corrosion resistance. Just note that this caster has a weight capacity of 1,200 pounds, so if you have a jack rated for a higher...

  • What is Wheel of Removable 6" Caster # JC-102 Made Of
The wheel of the Removable 6" Caster # JC-102 that you referenced is steel. Nothing on the assembly is made of plastic actually. I attached a review video for this wheel for you to check out as well.

  • Comparing Pro Series Caster Wheel PS1400750340 and JC-102
All of the relevant dimensions and capacities are the same between the Pro Series Wheel Caster # PS1400750340 and the # JC-102 that you referenced. They basically would fit the same applications as they are both 1,200 lb capacity wheel casters with a 6 inch diameter that fit 2 inch trailer jack inner tubes.

  • How to Determine if the Caster JC-102 Will Fit an A-Frame Jack
I don't have a way on my end to verify if the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks # JC-102 will fit on your specific jack, as I couldn't find any information on it, but if you have a tape measure handy you can verify this on your end. If the outer diameter of your inner tube measures just under 2" and your pin hole diameter is at least 3/8" then then part # JC-102 will fit. I have attached a review video where you can see the measurement of the inner diameter of this caster being...

  • Available Trailer Jack Caster Wheels
You can see all of our available jack caster wheel assemblies on the linked page. These fit on a 2-inch-diameter jack tube, such as # BD500245. If you can find a brand name or part number on your jack that will help to narrow down the correct parts, but as long as the tubing diameter matches up you should be fine using a different brand of wheel. We have plastic wheels in various dimensions, such as the 6-inch # JC-101 and also a steel wheel # JC-102.

  • Recommended Trailer Jack with Wheel for Pop-Up Camper
For the Atwood Round Trailer Jack AT80036 has been discontinued. If you want a different jack that will have a compatible wheel, I recommend the Round A-Frame Trailer Jack - Topwind - 14-1/4" Travel - 2,000 lbs # TJA-2000-B along with the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks - Steel Caster - 1,200 lbs # JC-102.

  • Recommended Jack for a Genset Trailer
If you are referencing a Genset trailer then a jack like the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944014 has a bolt-on or weld-on application and it is an electric jack allowing you to save the strain of manually operating the jack. If you would like to provide me with more information about your genset (style, weight...) or what you are looking for in a jack (like manual/electric or other features) I would be happy to make a more specific recommendation to fit your needs.

  • Replacement Topwind Swivel Jack with Caster Wheel for Small Utility Trailer
For your application I recommend going with the Bulldog Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack # BD151443 which installs with brackets on your trailer frame, and then you can use the 6" Caster # JC-102 to add a wheel to the jack. This gives you the style of jack you're looking for along with the wheel you need for your setup. The jack is rated for 2,000 lbs but the wheel is limited to 1,200 lbs so as long as you stay under the limiting factor of 1,200 lbs you'll be good to go.

  • Recommended Trailer Jack Wheel for a 2" Inner Diameter Jack
It sounds like what you're needing is the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks - Steel Caster # JC-102 which attaches to 2" inner diameter jack tubes and has a 1.2K weight capacity. When it comes to finding the right jack for your trailer you'd want to choose one that is around 10-15% of your trailers weight. So your 2,800 lb trailer would have a tongue weigh range between 280 lbs and 460 lbs. So a trailer jack that has a 1,000 lb or better capacity would work fine.

  • Recommended Pipe Mounted Bulldog Jack Compatible With Caster
I have a replacement jack option for you, but I do not recommend cutting off the footplate and drilling a hole in the tube to mount a caster like the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks - Steel Caster - 1,200 lbs Item # JC-102 to your Bulldog 158151 as it would void any warranty on the jack. Instead I recommend replacing it with the Bulldog Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack - Sidewind - 10" Lift - 2,000 lbs # BD1541150301 which will fit the same mount as current jack and is already...

On the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K that is the lifting capacity(2,000lbs) or the amount of tongue weight the camper has. It is capable of supporting 3,000lbs as long as its not raising or lowering. What that means is when you are using the camper the added weight of the people using it and everything else inside shouldn't exceed 3,000lbs on just the tongue jack. The jack has an extended length of 27-1/2" and 2,000 lb weight capacity. In order to add a caster wheel to this jack you will want to use part # JC-102. • Recommended Swivel Jack for Round Tube Trailer Tongue
There is no bolt-on style jack made for a round tube trailer frame since this would make securing the jack rather difficult. You can use a pipe-mount type like the Bulldog Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack - Sidewind - 10" Lift - 2,000 lbs # BD1541150301. This will require the mount # BD015279 and caster wheel # JC-102.

  • Wheel for DL22682 Dutton-Lainson 2000 lb Capacity Trailer Jack
The foot plate of the Dutton-Lainson # DL22682 pipe mount swivel jack isn't removable, so a caster wheel wouldn't be easy to add. The Bulldog # BD1541150301 pipe mount jack is set up to accept a caster wheel like # JC-102. Keep in mind though, the # JC-102 wheel has a 1200 lb weight rating, which means that the jack's capacity would be limited to 1200 lbs when the caster is used. This is the only swivel pipe mount jack we offer in a 2000 lb capacity that could be used with a caster wheel.

Yes, we do. It is the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks item # JC-102. This has been confirmed to work with the Ultimate Trailer Jack item # 322-RDJ-2K because it attaches to the 2" diameter inner jack tube. Please note that the castor wheel will reduce the capacity of the jack to 1,200 lbs of tongue weight while it is being used.
