Question:

Hi there, We have the Curt manufacturing 13381 trailer hitch for a 2018 VW Tiguan and have been told that the car is supposedly not equipped to have it installed. Is this heard of and if so what would be needed to install the hitch ? Thanks!

Curt and our other trailer hitch manufacturers will make hitches for vehicles as long as there is a demand for them regardless if the vehicle manufacturer endorses towing with the vehicle or not. For your 2018 Tiguan the hitch part # C13381 is a confirmed fit and comes with everything needed to install. It installs by bolting to existing holes on the trailer frame. I attached an install video that shows how the hitch installs for you to check out as well. You'll need just basic hand tools to complete the install. The socket sizes you'll need are 13 and 16 mm.
