Question:
Need recommendations for replacement tires and wheels. Boat, motor and trailer weigh 2800# before addition of our gear, etc. and we will occasionally haul it long distances in the summer. Trailer has a single axle with 18.5/8.5-8 size tires and 4 lug wheels. I’ve learned we should have radials with an E load range, but smallest diameter I can find is 12”. What are our best options? Thanks!

The best option is a 205/65-10 tire mounted on a wheel with a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern like the Kenda Bias Tire on Trailer Wheel part # AM3H460. This is the size tire that is the closest to what you have with an adequate capacity at 1,650-lb maximum load at 90 psi. This tire will be right at 3 inches larger in diameter and is 8.4 inches wide.
