Brake controllers, including the Prodigy P3 # 90195 will need to be hardwired into your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon. To do this there are a few parts you are going to need, starting with a 4-way connector if you do not already have one. For your '18 Outback you can use 4-Way Trailer Connector # 118467 (please note this will not work with Sport models). I have attached a link to a video of this connector being installed on a 2018 Outback Wagon for you to check out.
You will also need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7- and 4-way trailer connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller. Using this will allow you to install the Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controller. I have added a link to an installation video of this brake controller being installed on an Outback using the Installation Kit; I have also added a link to a help article which details installation of a trailer brake controller.
