What cargo net is recommended for use with this rack and is a net enough to keep things from flying out of the rack at hywy speeds?

The Thule rooftop cargo basket # TH859XT-8591XT can use Cargo Net # CS54FR but please do keep in mind that the size and shape of the loaded items can affect your best choice of net or tie-down straps. It really comes down to the specific size, shape and weight of the items you'll place in the basket.

You may prefer to use some tie-down straps like 4-piece set # ETBMB-05852 or # EM34420 if the items are large enough to catch a lot of wind. At highway speeds solidly securing the items is also helpful in reducing noise. Sometimes you'll be better off adding a soft bag like # e98990 for the smaller/lighter and more fragile items. This bag resists water too.
