Question:

For your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara JL flat tow wiring, you will need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 which will communicate with your motorhome's brake monitoring system that your Jeep brakes are being applied. This is to help you know if a problem is occurring like your Jeep brakes constantly being applied so you can solve an issue before damage occurs. I reached out to my tech contact at Roadmaster and you will not need the relay # RM-88400 because the factory stop light switch will time-out so it won't remain active when flat towing. For the other wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will give you a 6-way trailer connector on the front of your Jeep and will allow you to use diodes to protect your electronics while utilizing your factory wires. I recommend also adding the charge line kit # RM-156-25 to maintain your Jeep battery while towing.

When using the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR you will still need the stop light switch # RM-751490 but not the relay # RM-88400. This will provide the stop light signal needed once the factory stop light times out and the Patriot II will work just like the Roadmaster Evenbrake system # RM-9400 you referenced. These braking systems use an inertia sensor for detecting deceleration and brakes in proportion to your motorhome's deceleration. It has adjustable sensitivity and a manual override in the wireless remote control. To power the Patriot you will need the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332 to connect to your Jeep battery. If power is lost to the unit, it does have a backup battery that will allow operation for up to 30 minutes.
