Recommended Snow Tire Chains for 235/60R17 Tires

Published 11/28/2018

Question:

Some of the reviews describe cutting the chains. Does the TC1146 require cutting for a 235/60R17 Tire? If so can you recommend a chain that will fit without cutting? My wife is driving a Saturn View. She is in Nevada, and Im in California, and I am not able to assist her with the install so its imperative that I get her the correct chain for the winter driving. Please help!

The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern - Twist Links - 1 Pair # TC1146 is a confirmed fit for the 235/60r17 tires you referenced. The Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster for Light Trucks - 1 Pair # TCMA2 you will also need to keep these chains tight to your tires. These are more bulky chains than you would typically use on a Saturn Vue, so I recommend using a smaller diameter to allow wheel clearance and prevent possible damage to your wheel wells. For most small SUVs and Crossovers I recommend using Class S compatible chains with account for clearance issues.

In my opinion a better option for ease of installation that also will work better with the limited clearances of the tires is the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair # TC2318. These are also a confirmed fit and will be a better option for the Saturn Vue. I've attached videos to assist further and have also attached an article on tire chains.
