How Do You Tighten a Hitch Ball that Doesn't have Wrench Flats

How can i torque it down to 450 ft lb without holding the ball somehow? It looks like the base of the ball is completly round.

If you have a bench vise you can put a cloth around the ball and use the vise to hold it so you can torque the nut to spec on ball # C40008. Like you said this ball doesn't have wrench flats so there isn't really a better way than using a vise.
If you do not already have a ball you could use # 63840 instead which does have wrench flats.
