Troubleshooting r.C. Error Code on Display of Curt Triflex Brake Controller

Question:
RC stay on with no trailer attached with truck running and off. This is the 2nd unit, First was replaced with issues. Could it be a ground issue??

The r.C. error code on the Curt Triflex part # C24VV that you referenced means that recalibration is needed and you are supposed to unplug and replug in the brake controller. If you are seeing this error all the time I would be willing to bet you have a corrosion on the brake controller output pin of your 7-way which is putting a small amount of draw on the circuit and the controller thinks a trailer is connected. While the Curt controllers don't have the most reliable reputation I'd be willing to bet the problem is the pin of the connector needing to be cleaned.
