Question:

I am looking at the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Platform rack. I need to carry an ebike that has fenders and a carbon bike. The ebike with fenders will most likely need a frame hook system while the carbon bike no fenders would need to have the tire clamps. Does this Saris SuperClamp EX 2 platform rack accommodate both types of securing methods? I have seen information on another website which indicated it would. It seems to be one or the other methods but not a blend. If the Saris rack won’t work, are there any platform style bike racks that would? Thank you.

Although the Saris SuperClamp EX can accommodate e-bikes with fenders, it uses a top hook that would need to be clamped over the front and rear tires, just where the fender ends. In addition to that, it also uses wheel straps that hold on to the bottom of the tires to achieve a secure connection, but it does not give you the option to use a frame hook, like you asked.

For E-bikes with fenders the best bike rack solution is the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 as it has a slightly higher capacity that E-bikes need since they are heavier and because it grabs the bikes by the frame instead of the front tire, fenders would not get in the way.
