Question:

I have a Thule Flattop 6 first generation ski rack. I have ZERO hardware. Not one bolt. I think I need this kit #7533998 to attach this Thule rack to my Thule aeroblade Crossbars. My question is, what else do I need? I have no other hardware at the moment. Do I need these barrel nuts as well? #853-5439 If so how many? What else would I need to complete all my hardware needs. Thank you.

The hardware you need for your first generation Thule Flat Top Ski Carrier (model number 725) is the Mounting Kit for Thule Flat Top Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Racks # 7533998, as you mentioned. You will also need four of the Replacement Round Nut for Thule Carriers # 853-5439.

The adapter you need to attach your 725 Flat Top Ski Carrier to Thule AeroBlade crossbars is the Thule XADAPT2 AeroBlade and Xsporter Load Bar Adapter for Roof-Mounted Carriers # XADAPT2.
