Question:
Hi, I just watched a video on this site that was the best hitch for an 03 Ram 1500, this part number was in the video but then when I look at it, the description says it doesnt fit. My Truck is a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd. I currently have a Drawtite class 3 hitch and I need to upgrade it. I have a 6200lb travel trailer and Im using a Fastway E2 Equalizer weight distribution with sway control and its twisting my receiver upward thus causing my truck to continue to squat. Ive tightened the bolts attaching it to the factory cross tube as tight as possible and its no match for the tension the E2 bars put on it. So Im thinking something that attaches to the frame is going to be my fix. Any advise you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" # C15572 is not a fit for your 2003 Ram 1500. It is only a fit for 2009 and newer models. For your needs, I recommend the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 41929 which is rated for 12K towing and 15K when using weight distribution and tongues weights at 1,200 or 1,500 with weight distribution. This is a very strong hitch that will meet your needs and not be an issue when using the Fastway e2 system with your trailer.
I've attached a photo of this hitch installed on a 2003 Ram 1500 to assist.
