Question:
I have a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 and was told the tow hitch is under the bumper and theres a tow ball going through the bumper into the tow hitch I was told this is a factory-installed and it just looks like theres only a tow ball in the bumper but thats how the factory-installed ones look my question is is that correct

I do not believe the information you were given is correct. On your 2013 Ram 1500, there is a center hole in the rear bumper that can be used for a hitch ball if you do not have the factory trailer hitch receiver installed. If you do have a factory trailer hitch receiver installed then this hole is used for a 3/4" bolt to secure the trailer hitch, not a hitch ball (see photo).
If you do not already have a factory trailer hitch and would like to install a similar one, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13333 which has a 600 lb tongue weight capacity and a 6,000 lb trailer weight capacity. I have attached an install video for you as well.
