Replacement Motor for Kwikee Series 32 Steps on 1996 Coachmen

Question:

I have a 1996 spartan chassis Coachmen Destiny that has a kwikee step set. it has 2 steps I have attatched a photo of the tag on the steps. it gives a serial number and says it is a series 32 . The motor has a plastic gear in it that is stripped out. I looked on different websites and I am a bit confused. Can you tell me what I need to get the steps working again?

For a 1996 Coachmen with the Kwikee Series 32 steps you will need the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Motor Replacement Kit For Pre-IMGL # LC379608.

Another option, and the one I recommend going with, is the Kwikee Step Motor Conversion/Upgrade Kit # LC379145 because it will give your Kwikee steps the updated style of motor, gear box and linkage.

Looking for a Kwikee Series 32 step motor for a 2001 Holiday Rambler Vacationer Ford F-53 chassis. Not sure of the right model of replacement step.

We have two different routes you can go. You can replace the whole motor, control arm and wiring with # LC379145. The other kit is going to be # LC379608 and it will include just the motor and the bracket it mounts to. I would go with the full kit because I wouldn't feel comfortable putting a new motor in with 19 year old brackets and hardware. The older arm assembly on the RV may end up causing more stress on the new motor potentially causing premature failure. What it really comes down to is the condition of the rest of the parts on the steps. If they are in great shape, you should be fine with just the motor. If the rest of the hardware doesn't look the greatest, I would go with the whole kit just so you don't have to mess with it down the road.
