Does LED Indicator Light of SMI Air Force One Light Up When Vehicle isn't Connected

Question:
Once the system is installed, does the LED monitor light illuminate anytime the brakes are depressed even when you are not connected to the towing vehicle?

The LED notification strip that typically attaches to the rearview mirror of the vehicle being flat towed will not always light up when the vehicle brakes are applied. It would have to be connected to the tow vehicle. I attached a diagram for how it wires up as well.
