I have a 2016 altitude 4x4 Jeep Compass. Whats my tow capacity

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2016 Jeep Compass and found that the towing capacity will range from 1,000 to 2,000 pounds depending on what the vehicle is equipped with. For example if you have the 2.0L engine the maximum trailer weight is 1,000 pounds but if you have the 2.4L engine with the trailer tow package then the maximum weight is 2,000 pounds.

I highly recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual to verify the capacity for your specific model Compass. You can also visit a local Jeep dealer with your VIN and they will be able to tell you the exact number.

Since it sounds like you will be doing some towing you will need a trailer hitch and wiring (if you do not already have them). For a trailer hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75712.
