This hitch gives you the flexibility to tow small trailers, carry a cargo basket, or mount a heavy bike rack. It’s rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 500 lbs, with the same ratings when used with weight distribution. The 2" x 2" receiver opening fits most common towing and accessory setups, so you can use the gear you already have without adapters.
The steel construction is precision welded for strength and long-term durability. A matte black powder coat finish over a protective base coat provides superior rust resistance and hides scratches and road grime better than a glossy finish. You don’t need specialized tools or a shop lift to get this hitch mounted. It bolts directly to the frame with the included hardware—no welding required. This was extremely easy to install. I loosened the spare tire holder and bolted the hitch and spacer plate directly to the frame with w bolts included on to the pre threaded frame. It took 20 minutes.
Excellent hitch, high quality of construction. Very easy install and as others have stated dropping the spare is a necessity to ease the installation.
Unfortunately, this hitch does not reach the GX 460‘s towing capacity of 6500 pounds but stops short at 5000 pounds.
We’ve had this hitch a year and have hauled our trailer back and forth from Florida to Colorado, even towing Johns Jeep.. Great hitch and we couldn’t be happier.
The dealer would have charged close to $[XX] to install a “dealer” hitch, which is basically the same as the one featured here at a fraction of the price. You don’t need to be a high level technician to handle this hitch. It was easy to install, you just need a good wrench! I have towed my boat regularly since without issue.
Quality product! Only took 20 minutes to install including torque down.
Very easy to install on my GX460
etrailer has it figured out. They include a spacer to lower the hitch so u you oh don’t hit your bumper. The other brands do not have that. Also as stated in the instructions. Lower your tire a bit to make install easier.

One year later. The Hitch still looks great. No rust and holding up just fine.
Hitch easily installed after bumper hitch cover removed and spare tire lowered. Very useful receiver! Good purchase

Another excellent experience with etrailer! The receiver arrived quickly and packaged securely. Instructions were clear, hardware was a perfect fit and installation was relatively quick and uncomplicated. As with any hitch, make sure you have a torque wrench and tighten the bolts according to the prescribed pound-feet.
The hitch is robust and appears well made. Installed easily with lowering the spare tire a few inches. I have not used it for towing yet and may never, but I have it if needed. My 20-year-old Tundra remains my towing work horse.
Quick and on time sales and delivery process. Very simple to install also.

Out of the 3 choices, went with the e-trailer version, the optional spacer was useful to space the hitch from the plastic bumper covering, prior to install, lower the spare tire and push forward and retract for better clearance / fitment

Perfect for my needs. Just use once a year for basket on back to help carry all my hunting gear. Anti rattle works great also
The product is perfect. The one detail that makes the install far more difficult than it appears is rusted nuts on the frame. While the vehicle is only 3 yrs old there was enough rust to make it very difficult to screw the bolts in. Then I was only able to get 3 in. I'll have to get a tap to clean out the last nut.
The trailer hitch arrived about a week in advance of the original delivery projection date (loved that), instructions included were extremely simple yet spot on, it took me longer to gather tools and return them than it took to do the install (really loved that). All in all I’m completely satisfied and can’t wait to put this new accessory to the test!!!

Perfect! Right price, easy to install, meets all my needs for horse & utility trailer…
Excellent quality. Great communication and simple to follow instructions. I'm glad that the torque specs are included. The hitch is on tight.
Install was a breeze, looks stock. Excited to put it to work! My weld nuts were rust, so it was a complete work out to tighten down (or up?) the bolts. And a little heads up, the hitch and plate get heavy, so having a helper would be wise!

This hitch receiver has done the job since acquiring it last year. I have no concerns regarding its durability. It barely shows rust where friction occurs. Very well built piece of equipment that will last for a great while.
