Question:
My landing gear motor skips when raising the 5th Wheel. It will not skip when lowering. Also if I assist the motor with a manual crank, it will work without skipping. Gear box is brand new. Today the strain blew the in line fuse. Am I right to assume I need a new landing gear motor?

The skipping sound you are hearing is the motor drawing too much amperage and then "clicking" loudly as it fails to have enough amperage to move the landing gear. This is very common if the motor needs replacing or the power or ground for the motor is not adequate.
Only problem is that the motor and gear box you sent in a picture of does not match anything we carry. Can you get a brand off of it and send that to me? In the mean time I'd verify that the ground wire and power wire for the motor is connected properly. If the jack powers from a battery make sure that it's in good shape.
