HELLO, I TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WIRES GO TO WHRE ON MY 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO..I HAVE THE 7 PIN TRAILER HOOK UP, JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT WIRES GO WHERE..I HAVE THESE COLOR WIRES COMING OUT THE BACK OF MY BUMPER: BLACK, BLUE, BROWN, WHITE, RED, YELLOW, GREEN..DO YOU KNOW WHICH ONES GO WHERE? If you are installing a 7-Way connector, like the Hopkins # HM41145, on your 2002 Chevrolet Silverado the typical wire colors are for the following functions:
Red - Left turn and stop
White - Ground
Blue - Electric brakes
Green - Right turn and stop
Black - Battery
Brown - Running lights
Yellow - Reverse lights
Although these are the typical wiring colors it can vary by manufacturer. The best way to know that you installed the 7-Way correctly is to verify the function of each wire with a tester like part # PTW2992.
