Will 8 Inch Rims Fit With The AxleTek 7" x 1 1/4" Electric Brake Assembly
Updated 06/28/2018 | Published 06/26/2018 >
Question:
I want to use an 18x9.50-8 tire for this project build which needs to have brakes on it. Some of the information on brake hubs, rims, and brake assembly parts is leaving me confused. The brake drum hub says I can use these brake assemblies, but thats assemblies say they are only good for a 10inch rim not an 8. Can you verify which is right? Will an 8 inch rims fit on these brakes? Expert Reply:
Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2 are the etrailer house brand made by Axletek. The brakes fit 7 by 1-1/4 inch hub and drum assemblies which are sometimes used on trailers with 8 inch wheels. If your trailer has 7 inch drums already then these brakes will work with your wheels. These brakes are for axles with a 2,000 pound rating and a 4 bolt mounting flange bolt pattern.
