Brake Controller for 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 for Trailer With Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Published 06/25/2018 >
Question:
I recently purchased a 2015 GMC 2500 truck. My fifth wheel trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes and does not seem to operate well with the truck. The brake unit in my trailer is a Dexter. Do you have any solutions to resolve the issue?

Expert Reply:
The Dexter electric over hydraulic actuators are supposed to work with the factory integrated brake controller on your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500, but the fact is they don't. Your best bet is to simply replace the factory brake controller with an aftermarket option that absolutely will work with EOH systems.
I highly recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195, which levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts, and features an LCD display which is much easier to read than that of other controllers. This controller has been met with nearly universal praise; it has been reviewed by our customers more than 2,000 times and is averaging close to 5 out of 5 stars. You will only need Wiring Adapter # 3016 with the P3 for your '15 Sierra 2500.
