Question:
With a stock 2016 Chevy Camaro 2SS, what will be the height of the hitch opening above the ground measured to top or bottom of 1 1/4inch opening? Would like to tow a small trailer, but concerned itll be too low and Ill need a big riser hitch.

I don't have an exact ground clearance measurement for Curt hitch # C11900 and a 2016 Chevy Camaro SS. But if you look at the picture I have included you will see that the top of the receiver is directly below the bottom-most part of the rear fascia. If you measure from the ground up to that point and then subtract about 1/4 inch that will be where the top of the receiver will be.
You will most likely need a ball mount with a rise in it but that is true for many applications. Figuring out the amount of rise needed is key. The usual way of doing that is to measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch compared to the measurement from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is level. In this case we would have to go by the estimate based on how I explained it above.
We have various ball mounts for Class I trailer hitches with different amounts of rise and drop so you would just pick the best match based on the measurements you come up with. I have linked all of the Class I compatible ball mounts for you.
The height measurement on the vehicle is going to be very close to what it is for the discontinued Draw-Tite hitch # 24938 (10-1/2 inches).
