What Lippert Powered Steps are on Coachmen Mirada 35BH

Question:

We rented an RV 35BH coachman Morada in Florida and now we are in Connecticut and the stairs have broken. All they do is hang freely they do not lock in or out. I have looked and they are Lippert steps and the model is tread light power step. I cannot get a repair man to come out here for the life of me, I am a certified auto mechanic but not for RVUs so this is new territory for me. If you could give me some guidance as to what to do that would be helpful thank you.

The exact step you have is the Lippert Electric Tread Lite Step for RV # LC353543. Since the motor and linkage of the step set can't be accessed from the bottom you'll have to un-bolt the steps to access the motor area and see what the issue is. From there you should be able to see where the problem is.
