Recommended Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier for 2010 Toyota Tundra CrewMax

Updated 05/25/2018 | Published 05/24/2018

Question:

Need a kayak carrying rack system for a 2010 4x4 Toyota Tundra Crewcab . The truck has a camper shell so end loading of the kayak is not possible. I will be carrying two 31inch x 10 foot sit on top kayaks. Im considering the Rino Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack . But Im not sure about the kayak carrier type. I think a saddle style rather than a J style kayak carrier would be better for easier loading from the side of this tall truck. The two saddle units I am considering are the Swagman Exo Aero Roodtop S65145 and the Inno Multi Cradle Carrier INA452. Would either of these units be doable for carrying two 31inch wide kayaks on the Rino Aero Roof rack or is there a better option of Rack + Carrier that I should consider. Please advise as I would like to purchase today. Thank you

For your 2010 Toyota Tundra CrewMax, I recommend the Rhino-Rack roof rack consisting of:
Vortex Aero Crossbars - 65" Long # RRVA165B-2
2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA
Custom DK Fit Kit # DK079
Metal Lock Cores # RRVA-LEC4 If you will ever use T-Slot mounted accessories

Then the Inno Multi Cradle Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Down # INA452 or the Swagman EXO Aero # S65145 will work. The benefit of the Inno is the low profile nature and the benefit of the Swagman is that it sits upright and is a higher off your roof. Either system will work well with the roof rack listed above. The deciding factor is whether you want more height or less height based on your camper shell design.
