No Power on Power Wire of 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe
Updated 12/21/2012 | Published 08/21/2011 >
Question:
Can you tell me where the POSITIVE + wire to the trailer plug gets power from. New Truck, and I have NO power on this wire. Ive looked at fuse panel under hood. No indication that this power source is located here. To summarize: I have the wire at the trailer plug. If I can locate the OTHER END of if, I can get it to 12dc power. In advance, my thanks for your assistance.

The power wire on the trailer connector gets power from the battery via the fuse box. You will want to check the fuse box panel to make sure the wires under the hood are connected to the fuse box (see FAQ).
If your 2011 Tahoe does not have a factory 7-way, you will need to install Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way, part # 30955. This will connect to the wiring above the spare tire on your 2011 Tahoe.
I have linked an FAQ on installing a brake controller and 7-way connector on the new Chevrolet Silverado models.

There is a red wire taped to the harness under the brake reservore. Connect it to the front of the fuse box.
