Why Wont 7-Way to 5-Way Activate Trailer Brakes

Question:
Hi there! I am looking for an adapter for my F-150 that converts from the 7 prong to a 5 pin for a Coyote trailer. I currently have an adapter but I dont think it is working correctly as it wont function the trailer brakes. Thanks for the help!

The issue you are having is that the 5th circuit of a 5-way is not normally wired for a brake output circuit so if your adapter is not able to connect the correct circuits since it's assuming the 5th circuit is for reverse lights.
The easy fix you have would be to swap the center pin and the 5:00 pin of the 7-way on your truck and the fifth circuit will work to activate the trailer brakes.
