Should there be a Gap Between Axle and SumoSprings on 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

Installed on 2018 silverado 1500 crew cab short bed 5.3L gas/electric. Have a 2.5 gap between the bottom of the sumo spring and the strike pad on the rear diff. Is this normal and,or ok?

Expert Reply:

It isn't uncommon to have some space between the SuperSprings # SSR-209-40 and the strike plate they make contact with when under load. Many of the installations shown in the instructions, linked for reference, also show a gap. You can close that gap a little by using the urethane spacers that came with the kit.
