Larger Diameter Tire Recommendation to Replace Tire Size 205/75-15 on Trailer

Published 04/13/2018

Question:

I would like to purchase wheels that will go with this recommended tire for my application. Can these be pre-mounted or would I need to get them mounted locally? I wasnt planning on getting them balanced because after reading some of e-trailers articles it seems balancing may not be necessary and that it has to be done in a specific manner to be effective. wheels to go with Westlake ST 225/75R load range E15 inch 5-by 4 1/2 bolt pattern

If you went with the next larger 15 inch trailer tire size of 225/75-15 in place of what you currently have and went with a higher Load Range which calls for higher PSI you'd gain about half an inch overall.

For that I'd recommend the Westlake tire part # LHWL304 which is this size and is a Load Range E. Has a capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi, a speed rating of 75 mph, and an overall diameter of 28.3 inches.

We have wheels that will work great with the tire I mentioned, but we don't have any pre-mounted wheel and tire combos at this time that match your bolt pattern so you'd have to go with a wheel by itself with the tire and then have the two mounted. My favorite is the part # AM20456 which fits the bolt pattern and tire mentioned earlier. For something considerably less expensive we have the Lionshead wheel part # LHHA315 which will work well too.
