Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Westlake trailer tires have always given me good service and etrailer was fast and received the right tire in good shape

by:

I caught a nail in one of my tires close to the outside tread making it necessary to replace the tire. I replaced the bad tire with factory supplied Westlake tire. The original tires have about 3,500 miles on them and are wearing well.

by:

When a nail punctured the sidewall of my trailer tire I found myself in need of a quick replacement. With no local business able to provide an exact replacement, a web search quickly yielded information about etrailer and their quality of service. After ordering, I had the tire in a very short time and I’m back on the road! Great support, and always kept informed that my order had been placed, shipped, and delivered. Can’t ask for much more than that.

by:

Unfortunately we had 2 blowouts with these Westlake tires in August 2021. 1 of them was less that a year old with maybe 1,000 miles on it. After the 2nd blowout which caused significant damage to the travel trailer, we replace all Westlakes with another brand.

by:

The process was smooth and easy. Product shipped and delivered on time as advertised. This is our second time using etrailer and both orders have been this good!

by:

Absolutely great packaging and shipping. Quick turn around from order to receipt. Now there is one more item that I can add to my list to purchase from your company. Thank you so much.

by:

These tires are exactly what I ordered they are a very good tire. Had some exactly like these on another trailer and they did fantastic no problems and tread wear was good.

by:

Excellent knowledgeable service at point-of-sale, delivery on time as promised. Quick, painless and efficient service. Thanks!

by:

Heard about E-Trailer from JD with BigTruckBigRV (youtube).
Absolutely flawless execution of order, delivery, update information, tracking etc.

Could not be happier got them mounted to day and they are awesome.
Thank you.

by:

I give a 5 star rating to etrailer as they never disappoint. I'm hoping these 4 tires that go on my camper will do the same. I was pleased them as the original camper tire.

by:

Exactly what I ordered
Oem part. Package
arrived sooner than expected.
Customer representative was very knowledgeable and helpful will continue to do business with them Thank you so much !

by:

Delivered quickly, great web site, easy to do business with.

by:

Made in China has a connotation of poor quality at best, most of the time junk.
These Westlake tires are made in China however to the contrary they are top-quality.
Don’t hesitate in using these as replacement!
Plus buy them from etrailer.com, for first class service, call and asked for Chris W!!

Great service and quick delivery for a hard to find tire! Thank you!

by:

Tires were well packaged. The manufacturer dates on the tires were acceptable-excellent. Thanks for having these tires in stock and for shipping them to me quickly.

by:

I got my tires on time and with no problems. I had tried another tire company for the same tire and got the wrong tires and they were over 2 years old. The tires I got from etrailer.com were fresh inventory. Thank you for your efficiency and fresh dated tires and correct order processing.

by:

Great customer service. You guys are the best.

by:

If I need new tires, I would definitely buy from etrailer.com again!

by:

purchased with white rims to match....has been a good purchase and received some valued input from e-trailer. (needed better load range tires but needed rims to match my bolt pattern). Tires seem to be of high quality.

by:

Great products, awesome service, quick delivery and fair prices. Love the free shipping!

Fast shipping and an exact replacement for my travel trailer. I've had these Westlake ST 225/75R15s on my GD2970RL (8,500lbs) for just under a year and have had no problems at all, and we've towed a solid 5,000 miles or more so far. Yes, they are Chinese made, but they have to meet DOT standards and I know plenty of folks that run these on various types of trailers with no problems at all. We were returning from a camping trip recently and got a sharp piece of metal stuck in the side of one of the tires. We're pretty sure it was from an area of road construction we went through. Would've been the exact same outcome even if I had a super high-end tire. The tire held up perfectly other than the small leak. Luckily, we have roadside assistance, so they helped get us swapped over to the spare pretty quick. Had a real hard time finding one locally, but etrailer had me a new one in 2 days! Not even gonna miss our trip this weekend! Thanks etrailer!

  • Best ST225/75R15 Trailer Tire for Raptor Toy Hauler Fifth Wheel Trailer
The best ST225/75R15 trailer tire possible for your 2006 Raptor Toy Hauler is the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # LHWL304 because of its deep 10/32" tread depth and the fact that that Westlake tires have a 5-year warranty, which is longer than other trailer tire warranties by quite a bit, which speaks volumes to their quality. Westlake trailer tires also have free 24-hour, 7-day a week roadside assistance for two years just in case you should ever get a flat...

  • Should PSI be Run to Max Pressure on Trailer Tires
We aren't familiar with the Duro brand as we don't carry them, but for any trailer tire you do want to inflate them to the maximum cold psi, which will give you their maximum load capacity and best performance, allowing the tire to wear slower and more evenly. For example, the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # LHWL304 has a 2,830 lbs when inflated to its max 80 psi. • When Should Trailer Tires be Replaced
If your tires have been used properly by inflating them to the correct psi and you have not been exceeding their max speed rating then you will want to check the tread on them. The smallest tread depth that we recommend using is 2/32 of an inch. If you are getting close to this tread depth measurement then you will probably want to swap out your tires before going on a roadtrip to decrease the chance of a blowout. The only other factor that would come into play would be how old the tires...

  • Reasons for Tire Failure and Recommended Replacement ST225/75R15 Tires for Trailer
Trailer tire failure can be caused by a number of things. To help extend the life of trailer tires, it is very important to make sure you are not overloading their capacity and that the tires are always inflated to the maximum psi as listed on the sidewall. When a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than its listed maximum, this essentially reduces its load capacity to an unknown number and can lead to you unknowingly exceeding its weight limit. Also note that most trailer...

Please keep in mind that Goodyear Endurance Trailer tires use a unique fill chart which correlates to the weight of the trailer and size of the tire. The broken band could be a result of overloading the trailer, improper air pressure, or just a defect in the tire. Due to the age of your tires I would say they are time to be replaced. Trailer tires need to be inflated to their max pressure when "cold" or before warmed up after driving. • When do Trailer Tires Typically Need to Get Replaced
Trailer tires actually don't typically wear out before they need to get replaced. Typically they get too old and that's when it's time to replace them. Most trailer tires get 4-6 years of life from date of manufacturer before they start dry-rotting and becoming unsafe. Your situation where the tires have plenty of miles and tread left on them is not unusual at all.

Each of these tires is rated for 2,830 lbs which means that even if your trailer was a single axle you'd have enough tire capacity for it.
