Question:

I am installing the Tekonsha ZCI 119250 kit in my 2016 VW Golf R. What is the wiring code for this vehicle? Thanks.

I do have an option for you but the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT is not recommended for use on your 2016 Volkswagen Golf R. Instead, you will want to use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56374 which is actually a plug and play option that will not require you to cut or splice any wires like the original harness you inquired about does.

With that being said, in order to hardwire a harness into your vehicle you would need to use a circuit tester to test for function at each wire in the back of the taillight assemblies. You can see this process at the 5:20 mark in the attached video which is on a similar vehicle but the process will still be the same. Unfortunately, we do not know which color wires represent which functions on your vehicle therefore this will be the only option to hardwire a harness.
