Do Safety Chain Loops of B and W Gooseneck Hitch for 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Stick Up in Bed

Question:

Is the BandW turnover hitch truly flat? It looks like the safety chain hookups stick up a little. I haul a lot of furniture grade plywood and I can’t have something denting it.

If you check out the attached picture you'll see that when we installed the B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch part # BWGNRK1012 in a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 the safety chain loops installed in the "valleys" of the truck bed corrugation. Thes means they would be a bit more recessed and not stick up too much. The height will still be taller than the tall section of the truck bed corrugation so if you weren't careful you could still dent the plywood.

Best option would be to throw down a bed mat when you need to transport the plywood like the Westin part # 50-6165 for if you have an 8 foot bed and part # 50-6145 for if you have the short bed.
