Question:

i have a 2015 2500 duramax . would installing air bags improve the ride with no load? it doesnt ride very good empty

Air bags do not make unloaded ride quality any nicer or rougher. I know that having "air" in the title make it sound like it might cushion your ride quality but in reality all the bags would do is either make the ride harsh (if you over inflated them) or totally unaffected (if they had the minimum 5 psi) in them. For heavier duty trucks like yours it's hard to balance the weight capacity the truck needs to have and a ride quality that isn't unbearable.

What some do is install a heavy truck bed mat which helps smooth out the rear suspension as it prevents the suspension from topping out quite as much as it rebounds when hitting bumps. If you have a short bed truck we have the part # 50-6145 or if you have a long bed part # 50-6165. Both of these weigh about 50 lbs.
